Hello, thinking of applying to Qatar MPL or EasyJet MPL (when released) through CTC. Does anyone here know what happens if you go through your 18 months training, and are then told that the airline isn't recruiting? I heard someone say then that you would have to start again, redoing all exams and training etc, doubling the cost of the license to get an ATPL, but then I've heard others that just say you are restricted to an aircraft, not an airline, so, with EasyJet for example, I could go get a job with another A319/A320 operator?
Thank you

Speaking from experience you BOTH need a type rating and line training for your MPL to become unrestricted. With just a type rating the MPL is restricted to your partner airline only. So you can't fly for other airlines. If your airline can't provide you with a TR then basically your licence is not complete and you're in trouble. An option in that case would be to revert back to the CPL/IR route. Up to PT1 (PPL) the training is the same. You'll sign some sort of contract with your partner airline so make sure this point is covered.
