I found this on You Tube.
Some great footage by Mr John Cole.

The tower hasn't changed a bit :(

Great to see an all British RAF ,except the DC-3 and the sabres of course!!Bit surprised at the MK2 shack from 203 sqdn as I was still at Ballykelly until the end of September 63 and do not recall them having MK 2s?
Worked on all of the types except the JPs and Javelins!

eastern wiseguy,

That was the RAF that inspired me to join! White V bombers, silver Lightnings and triangular Javelins.
All a bit of a let down a few years later when I actually DID join, the consequences of MacMillan's demands for huge reductions in defence expenditure (hence 1957 'no more manned fighters or bombers white paper) were really being felt and, as I discovered, the reality was all a bit of a dissapointment. Brave Fighter Command, defending the country? No, actually merely defending the V Force bases, which was itself already doomed to be replaced by missiles.

oldpax,

No RAF Sabres by 1963, they were long gone. As to the all British bit, again, mainly smoke and mirrors, the majority of the Hunters, Javelins and Canberras were paid for by the US as part of their extremely generous MDAP Off shore funding programme.
