Tulla refueller tells me that YMEN, is closing next year for a four to six week period so that runway 08/26 can be resurfaced and the Melbourne north -south water main which crosses 17/35 needs to be replaced.

Talk of corporate jets to Avalon, air ambulance moving up to Tulla and the rest moving down to Point Cook.

Yeh but they can't make it to the US in one hit either! ;)

runway 08/26 can be resurfaced

Huge plus: big investment in asset guarantees long term commitment to YMEN

Huge minus: ongoing unsustainable cash outflows guarantee early demise on economic grounds, put up a parking lot :8

I think Linfox are committed to both aviation and Essendon Airport. My guess would be that Melbourne water need to replace the main and Linfox have found a way to use that to get Melb Water & / or the government to subsidise a runway upgrade.

I'd view it as a positive thing.
