Hi everyone,

Is there a free or a cheap and cheerful electronic log book for PC/iPhone/iPad? I am only looking for something slightly more convenient than an exel spreadsheet.

I know there is plenty of expensive posh apps that keep track of all sorts of different things which isn't something I need right now... I just want to have an electronic back up of my paper logbook.

Suggestions welcome.

Thanks

I have been using FlightLogg.in' - Online Pilot Logbook (http://flightlogg.in) for a while now and its completely free. It is pretty decent and has some good functionality. Such as it automatically backs up and sends you a excel email spreadsheet periodically to keep incase the site goes down.

However, I have just moved to MCC Pilot Log as I wanted to be able to update online. The Basic version is free for your PC and you can log on there as much as you like. But I thought for a one time 60 euros it was worth going for the top level and be able sync ipad/android phone and PC to the logbook.

I use a Google docs spreadsheet. Works just fine and I can share it easily if required.

If all you want is an electronic backup of your paper logbook then just take a photo of the paper logbook on your phone every time you fill up a page.

Photo of the logbook works great, although you miss out on the filter functionality. It seems every new job application requires an ever increasingly detailed breakdown of your hours. As much as I liked to manually calculate how many hours I have done in blue underpants or similarly trivial total. The digital logbook has made it so much quicker and easier.

I started using flightlogg.in. It's exactly what I need for now. Maybe once I get the fATPL and a good job I'll be able to afford the £60-80 for a full electronic logbook

Thanks for the suggestions everyone ;)

Mccpilotlog.

It's cheap, no renewal fees, works long time and does anything you need - backup, papercopies, about 25 euros only.

Have a look at Skylog Pro.
