I've been a long-time reader of this forum and this is really a great and very helpful community. So here is my first post and I hope you guys can help me:

I am looking to complete CAA PPL-A ground school and exams in the UK before doing the practical flight training at an EASA/CAA-approved school in the US.

I had completed some flight training in the past and passed certain exams hence already have a good understanding of most topics I need to major for the CAA PPL-A theory exams (none of the exams I have passed in the past can be credited though). I strongly prefer self-study and understand that this is getting increasingly tricky with the introduction of ATOs (100hr class room requirement etc) but that RFs could potentially still offer self-study courses.

Can anyone recommend to me an RF in the London/South of England area who is OK with a self-study approach? Thanks a lot in advance.

100 Hours of study requirement has gone
Still need to pass all 9 exams in 6 Sittings
(Where a Sitting is one ten day period)
Schools must recommend that you are ready to sit
any exam(s) so there will be at least that as a 'Classroom'
exercise.

Depends where you live but you could speak with the CFI (also a Ground
Examiner) at FlyElstree (Elstree Aerodrome) who is fairly amenable to what
a student is trying to achieve.
