I flew it 2/9/63 & 9/9/63. It didn't seem to figure before that in my logbook so I don't know if it was a late arrival at Ternhill.

XJ 380 was originally with 275 and 228 Sqdns before going to CFS Ternhill circa October 1962. It was withdrawn from service in 1968 and spent the next ten years at Catterick before being externally restored at Finningley in 1979-82, The shell was sold in 1988 and passed through a couple of owners before ending up with the Boscombe Air Collection at Old Sarum. The connection is that it spent some time at Boscombe in 1960-61,possibly on radio trials?

I posted on another thread, but in case anybody hasn't noticed, the Red Bull Museum Sycamore has flown again. it was acquired from the Altenrhein museum in Switzerland.
