Anybody had any experience with ATR ferry flights, in particular the common practice of operating above FL 250?
250 being the service ceiling due to the pax drop down O2 mask, not an issue on ferry flights obviously.
Nothing ominous here, just want to confirm that is fairly widespread.
Any response appreciated, cheers.

The ATR doesn't have drop down Ox masks.
It has fixed Ox outlets overhead pax seats.
As far as I know the max FL250 is set by the max differential of the pressurisation system. Any higher than the max diff will set off the CCAS CRC
[Centralised Crew Alerting Syst. Continuous Repetitive Chime]

edit cant spell Continuous

BIK_116.80 I stand corrected.
The Max FL250 is an artificial limit taking advantage of weight/cost savings of the regulations.

Thanks for your reply guys.
dv8, sorry if my wording in the initial post (re O2 masks) mislead you.
BK_116.80, good info - you have confirmed exactly what I thought the situation was. Have you actually done an ATR ferry yourself?

I have not personally done one however through word of mouth have heard that it is quite common to select a level above 250 to take advantage of the potential benefits.
My problem is, this is word of mouth only, and even though we know there is no problem as far as the airframe/systems are concerned, I want to confirm that is SOP, or at least accepted practice by some operators.
Anybody.......? BK_116.80.....?
