For anyone who has upgraded their Honeywell FMC to the Batch 3 software:

I understand there is some mandatory training required for CPDLC,etc and wondering what training program is recommended. An online course? CAE in house? Bombardier?

Thanks.

Bombardier offers online courses (approximately 2 hours each):
-Global XRS/5000 Batch 3 Flight Differences
-Global XRS/5000 FANS Training

My guess is that training credentials should come with the purchase of the Batch 3 but I don't know if CAE or FSI can provide those also.

As I recall, with each upgrade you get access to 6 on line courses. Otherwise, it's a few hundred dollars for the course online.

Great. Thanks for the info guys. I will check with Bombardier.

Do you know if the CAE (Dallas) GLEX sim has been upgraded to Batch 3? I have recurrent there in early March.

Bombardier has an excellent online course. Access is dependent on an installation date.

Off topic, but is a new LOA required with the FAA after Batch 3?

Yes it is.
