In 1965 I was part of a RAAF Hercules crew who was temporally assigned to what what was originally RAF Butterworth.
One evening having quite drink in the NAFFI which was managed by a middle aged lady and during a quite moment she confided in me the fact that she stayed there because her husband was a prison of the Japs. When he died he was buried where the new main runway was laid.
As I doubt that there would be any local knowledge of this event now, and as the airfield has been exchanged by the government there is a chance that these men ( I am presuming there could be more than one interned) could be recovered.
I am keen, if that happens,that the British government will ensure they are properly interned.
I am unsure of where to start, can any one give me a steer.
