Just to clarify, this is the V-Force Reunion (http://www.vforcereunion.co.uk/), which is of course open to all who were on the V Force, either as aircrew or groundcrew, on Valiants, Victors and Vulcans. Full details on the link.

In the past the Valiant contingent has been very well represented, especially considering the great age of some of them ;)

Any chance of the Vickers Valetta personnel being considered 'V-Force'?

No, or we'll be having Vildebeest crews asking to come along next ;)

The one that should qualify was the Vickers Varsity.

It was the same era and designed to drop bombs.

I illegally occupied the bomb aimer's position in the nose of a Varsity for a landing at Gaydon once. Have to admit I flinched as the nose wheel touched!

The most comfortable place that was ever used to locate any radio equipment was down there.

You laid on your back on a nice soft 'bed' to work on the 2 VHF Tx/Rx.http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.pprune.org/get/images/smilies/thumbs.gif

Different to 'organ lofts' and other obscure places where it was usually stashed.

Did that at Wyton with the BLEU. Even funnier when the runway is wet.

When the V Force reunion website put a Valiant Mk1 on their website I will be interested, but not until then.

What about the Vultee Vengeance - and nobody mentioned the VC10

In my defence, re the Vickers Valetta, we did carry bombs (as freight) from Fayid to Nairobi for the Avro Lincolns to use as Mau-Mau pacifiers. There was the occasional hitch, of course.
