Hello,

for a BSCU channel fault in an A320, there is a reset procedure in the QRH which says:

In Flight:

Before landing gear extension:
‐ Set A/SKID & N/W STRG sw to OFF
‐ Set A/SKID & N/W STRG sw to ON ‐
If required, rearm the autobrake
When landing gear is down: reset not authorized

Does anybody know, why we shouldn't do the reset with the landing gear down, and what can happen if we do it anyway?

thanks for any inputs!!

Hello.

See Pro-Sup-32 BSCU reset in flight. Explains it in the 'note' section.

Sorry, i couldn't find it under the Sup section landing gear. Has the location changed?

Check out this incident report:
Report: Alitalia A321 at Naples on Apr 9th 2007, brakes failure after landing, runway excursion, "roundtrip" over taxiways and stop on opposite runway (http://avherald.com/h?article=43e9ebf7)

Well, in my FCOM its still there...the reason why you should reset the BSCU before extending the landing gear is that the BSCU performs a selftest at landing gear extension. If you reset the BSCU when gear is down already it is possible that you still have a fault in the system which is not indicated to you (because the ECAM alerts generated by a BSCU problem are deleted during the reset).
