From what I heard in a washup a few weeks ago, a lot of the DSO properties are leased so yes, it is possible that some or most are up for renewal soon. However that this will result in people being forced to leave is uncertain - apparently one group of pilots had to move elsewhere when the landlord set his renewal price at 40% more than the current rate (how he was legally allowed to is another matter) and they were relocated as it was above what Emirates are willing to pay. So again it's all down to what landlords' unreasonable, overinflated demands are...

Guess that could be the final issue tipping the ****/money scale for a lot of guys... It's one thing having a good supply of FOs but experienced captains leaving en mass is something completely different...

Spoke to the accommodation people, FWIW....they are denying that anything will happen in DSO and that they simply do ot have enough units in Meydan to rehouse us. They say that the lease is not up for a few years yet.....mind you, this was just the lady that answered the phone, nice lady but the one that cannot send out an email without three recalls!!

From what I can recall, I believe that DSO Semmer Villas as they are called nowadays were initially taken on a 15 year lease which expires summer 2021.
