Hi,

I've been dreaming to be a pilot from quite a young age. I'm currently 22 have no flying experience but I do have some experience in flight operations as I currently work with a ground handler company... Will that be of any help in the selection process ?

When I saw this offer I was pretty thrilled about it. I've been doing my research and trying to look up for more information on the course and what people have gone through, but I still have some questions that I'm curious about that I can't find much information on.

What's the percentage of people that make it all the way through past the final selection?

During the assessment, what are the aptitude tests that are given ?

What will be required for the group assessments?

Is there a minimum number of years to serve out after the completion of the course?

What's the current pay for a FO freshly out frm the ab initio course?

As this is a self financed course, my understanding is that there is no allowances on expenses (e.g. food etc...) so we will have to pay for our own expenses is that correct?

What's the course of progression like after graduating from the course?

Do you have any studying tips on specific topic's that might come up during an interview?

I'm totally new to this forum so I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right section. Do let me know if I should be looking in another section of the forum.
Many thanks in advance for any help or advice that can be given. :)

Percentage of candidates making it through to final selection will vary, depending on the standards they reach I'd presume.

CTC use PILAPT for their Wings Sponsored assessments.

Group Exercises - I have heard on the rumour mill that CTC Assessors look at these threads and change the group exercises if they are mentioned here, to others, but could range from speaking about an allocated aviation topic, to building a bridge and balancing a glass of water on it.

Hopefully others will be able to provide further information for you.

Good luck!

There's another similar program offered by CAEOAA. Might wanna check it out.

I've taken a look at both of the course, but after reviewing it, I still feel much more comfortable with the ab initio program under CTC Wings even though it's the more costly option. It would help abit if there's also suggestions on how you managed to get your funding as it's currently one of the biggest barrier's for me....

Some banks do provide loans of up to 100k with unlimited guarantors upon obtaining a spot in the cadetship. Do note that the costs associated with the program does not include daily necessities and food (IIRC). Have you been selected for the asssessment yet?

I see. I'll keep the allowances in mind. I'm not too sure yet as I've already submitted my application and I'm waiting for a response now. Do you know the name of those banks though? I would like to be able to do some research and know what it's gonna cost me while waiting...

Try taking a look at RHB's study loan. Once selected, the banks will brief you more on the loan. Good luck for your assessment. :)
