Medical Class 1 in Germany

Hello everyone, I hope there is no similar thread - I could not find any with the search function.

I currently live in Stuttgart, Germany and need to do the Initial Class 1 Medical Examination.
Looking on the internet I found this place: aeromedical center germany - Gottlieb-Manz-Straße 1 - 70794 Filderstadt - Fon: +49 711 / 70 70 92 3 - +49 711 / 70 70 92 50 (http://www.flugmedizin24.de/en/)
But they asked me €490, and from what I've heard it is a bit too expensive. Does anyone have any advice on where I could do it at a lower price? Or is this price normal? I could even go to northern Switzerland from here.

Very helpful link, but the OP should beware ! He said he needs an INITIAL class 1 medical. In most countries (and certainly in the UK) initial class 1's can only be issued by the Authority's Medical Centre, not by its AME's up and down the country. Worth checking this before you book with anyone !

I'm not very well up on conversions from Euros to Sterling (and, of course, any travel costs would be extra ! ) but it looks to me as if an initial class 1 at the CAA at Gatwick would be no more than the OP quoted !
