Those boys are working hard. There was also doggers on Boxing Day and 2nd Jan.

Maybe the USAF have a strange idea that those aircraft are there for flying. I remember when the RAF could afford to let it's pilots fly more than a handful of times a month. I'm not sure how anyone manages to maintain Combat Ready on the meagre amount of flying available these days.
I would far rather be doing 2v1 ACT rather than 3 weeks of enforced "leave".

I recall June 1990, when we discovered our annual personal weapons training could be accomplished by firing...zero rounds!

Two months later, I was having weapons and ammo shoved at me without even being asked for my Green Card.

Which ancient wise man said "If you desire peace, disband your armed forces and spend the cash on buying elections" ? :suspect:

I dont keep up to date with military slang I'm afraid, other than what I pick up on here. Hadn't heard about "doggers" before now.

Actually I had, but down our way doggers/dogging have little to do with military aviation ;)
