I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the news of the Aerodrome being flooded. I worked there for thirty years and I cannot understand where the water came from. Has anyone any photos or any idea how it came about?

Here are some pictures showing the flooding on 24 Dec.

It would seem that the flooding was due to the Salfords Stream that runs along the eastern and southern side of the Aerodrome overflowing.

By 1430 hours the worst was over.

There are a fair few photo's in todays online Daily Mail ;

UK weather causes flight cancellations at Gatwick and 70,000 southern England homes without power | Mail Online (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2528791/UK-weather-causes-flight-cancellations-Gatwick-70-000-southern-England-homes-without-power.html)

You need to scroll down a bit, wish I'd got that sea plane rating now ;-)

One picture I saw showed an aircraft, presumably destroyed, with registration G-DBYE. Very sad.

Looked like a few blown around in the wind at Redhill too, from the photos.
