Mutt, I think Savoia was referring to this "other one" - http://www.pprune.org/rotorheads/529243-s76b-hard-landing-port-fourchon.html

Limited number of possible operators. Either MHS or Awan Inspirasi I assume.

ah ok, I wasnt thinking of that one as an offshore helicopter down. I guess it was but it wasnt offshore at the time.
Flying the S76 offshore, I just wondered which ones were meant. I didnt know of any other operators in Malaysia using the 76.

Helimutt: I noted "offshore-employed" ie. related to offshore flying.
Just 'glad' that most of the accidents this month have been non-fatal, many even without injury.
Jeremy, do you know who currently operate 76's in Malaysia. CHC, MHS .. ?

I think that it may be one of the aircraft owned by Bristow on lease to MHS?

The incident occurred when the helicopter was about to make a controlled landing aboard a vessel carrying out seismic work," it said, adding that the cause of the incident was still under investigation.

Hmm, short final to the deck it goes into the water. Floats don't inflate (?)and it sinks, but 2 pilots and 6 pass all get out ok. No mention of any mechanical problem (so far). If it was Nigeria we'd all be suspecting that dreaded downburst. Weather change..wind shift to a tailwind?

Soggy,
As there has been no Accident Report published perhaps you are right on the Puma....but how about the 212 at Eket?
That was a perfectly good helicopter as you recall.

Apologies for the last link - the video is inside this. I think the writers kid might have made the animation - and it's pure Disney, with a happy ending! :)

Rather than the 'Disney' version (!) you can find actual YouTube video of the accident and rescue here: Dramatic Malaysian S-76C 2013 Ditching Video (http://aerossurance.com/helicopters/s-76c-ditching-video/)

The YouTube link above fails for some reason but the video linked here still works: Dramatic Malaysian S-76C 2013 Ditching Video (http://aerossurance.com/helicopters/s-76c-ditching-video/)
