Bon-voyage to all the guys'n'gals in light blue, (plus the occasional 'special guest' in dark blue), of the Scottish Air Traffic Control Centre (Military), with whom us civvy types have had the honour of sharing a billet for a very long time.

The place doesn't feel the same without you.

Ditto.
Used you once for a low level abort in the Cairngorms on BFTS - deeply grateful!

Never served at Prestwick, but it was the scene of my first flight (10/- for 10 minutes in a Dragon Rapide c 1958) which set me off on a lifetime's interest in flying. Sad day :(

I've flown to Prestwick a few times but never noticed any RAF presence. Is all the ATC there military?

Having said that I was surprised last time I went to be offered an SRA because the ILS was u/s.

RAF Prestwick was in an industrial estate nearby, nothing to do with the airport.

Is this part of the military withdrawal from Scotland before independence?:E

As an ex-RAF geriatric who served at Eastern, Clutch, Moray, LATCC (Mil) and my last Area tour at Atlantic House, I fondly remember the fantastic co-operation constantly displayed between ourselves and our civilian colleagues at ScATCC, great times with with great people.
Continued fortunes to those who remain at Prestwick, and good luck to those who have relocated South.

I was at Redbrae House in the 70's for those who remember the HUTA and ADNC, happy days and nights in a building that was part condemned.

Kpax, I did the last Wintex (77) in Redbrae, just as Scazi Mill were getting the keys of Atlantic House.

Hello.

I am a researcher assisting Dr David Clarke of Sheffield Hallam University.

We are investigating the alleged sighting of an unusual, diamond-shaped aircraft and an unidentified Harrier jet near Calvine, Scotland, in August 1990.

If you are unfamiliar with this incident, more information is available here: https://drdavidclarke.co.uk/secret-files/the-calvine-ufo-photographs/

We understand from a former RAF Scotland source that checks were carried out in 1990 to identify the Harrier with ScATCC (Mil) Prestwick radar which covered the Calvine area.

If anyone who served at ScATCC in 1990 can hence help us shed any light on this matter, we would be very grateful to hear from you.

Thank you.
