Great photos - really enjoyed looking - thank you.

I particularly liked you in the line of Gulfstreams and other heavier metal.

Some great shots, what was the purpose of the flight?

Makes me want to put some of my pics up too :)

@ YODI - The purpose was only adventure! It's a trip we've been dreaming of doing for a while.

@Fuji Abound - They weren't used to having such a little plane in Jeddah!

Sadly, I cannot access the photos either as apparently I have an out of date browser. But Lamu - ah, the memories !

Last time I was there, there was only one telephone on the island ('twas in the days before mobile phones), and only one bar, located at the north(?) end of the island. Tranquility on a tropical island, it was, excepting the donkey foals - you wouldn't believe the racket they were capable of.

The 'hakuna matata' pace of life was especially welcome as our bus had been hijacked by a bunch of Somali Shifta bandits on the drive up. Not a pleasant experience, I can assure you.

I believe I even got married on the island... although that's a story for a different thread (probably Jetblast).
