Hello guys,
i am taking a look at BMI flow chart on caa website.I thought the boundary was 35 for extra medical examinations but spoke to my local AMC for my initial class 1 and said that extra examinations will be conducted if you are above 30 and if above 35,then your medical is suspended/not issued.Could anyone confirm this is true because flow chart does not clearly define what happens if you are between 30 and 35.

think it is 30 for the initial. Then for renewal, if above 35, you need to perform specific action before being deemed fit

BMI limit is 35 in UK, for initials as well as renewals.

This chart gives useful guidance :

my original question was what happens if a pilot at initial Class 1 examination is between 30 and 35 i.e. 31.2 I supposed he would be in the same category as a 27 BMI pilot until i spoke to my local AME and he said to me that if you are 30-35 you need further assesment, and if above 35 you are totally disqualified. So what the  is true?

You supposed correctly ! Read the two sentences immediately underneath "Regulatory Requirements" in the CAA document linked above. It really couldn't be any clearer ! Perhaps your AME's advice needs very slight modification ! :=
