Very sad to see ... but some fine images here by Tom Gibbons and Mike Shreeve.

Following last month’s retirement of the Lockheed C-130K Hercules from RAF service, Global Aviation Resource visited MOD St Athan to view the Hercules aircraft stored within the Defence Support Group’s vast ‘Super Hangar’.

The fuselages of the ones previously broken were for sale at 95k each. They appear to have left them off the survivors list.

It's impressive isn't it, and to think we closed a load of Saints and flogged it off, would have been ideal as a Lyneham replacement ;)
