Saw this in the news this morning:

BBC News - Amazon testing drones for deliveries (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-25180906)

May have been discussed before, I've searched for a relevant thread but haven't found one.

Interested to hear other's thoughts...

Is it April already?

My thoughts exactly!

So many reasons why this is impractical.

I was more wondering how many will end up mounted on peoples living room walls as some sort of trophy?

The yoof of today will have a field day trying to down one of them with bricks, catapults or airguns... or whatever they can get their hands on

Just remember to read the small print on the Amazon website:

* Service not available in Deer Creek, CO (http://www.pprune.org/jet-blast/519518-american-ingenuity.html)

UPS and FedEx have been studying cargo VTUAV pick-up & delivery for almost 20 years now (studies including the use of ducted-fan VTUAVs, likely to be more survivable in a pellet gun environment...), so this is nothing new.
