CI5 needs a new recruit (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-25135934)

Nobody wanted to be Doyle, everyone wanted to be Bodie in the playground. RIP Lewis Collins

RIP indeed - always thought he should have been Sharpe rather than Sean Bean.Lewis Collins fitted the description, in Bernard Cornwell's books, much better.

We did a little flying with him at the Brize Flying Club - a very nice chap who didn't mind mucking in.

RIP

Sad news, as you say a childhood hero gone. There was something about the "Professionals" it was of its time and has never really been equalled. I bet the Ford motor co loved it - what it must have done for Capri sales? RIP Lewis, you held our respect.

Apparently all the manufacturers asked to provide vehicles refused or ignored the requests from the production company, but Ford accepted and said "how many would you like ?" A very shrewd move on their part.

Not forgetting that Lewis passed selection for 23 SAS but was turned down due to his acting 'celeb' status.
He was also a very accomplished parachutist.

RIP 'William Andrew Phillip Bodie'

Damn shame, met him once on holiday in Malta, and he was a decent bloke, even bought a round. RIP.
