I have been asked this question and have tried to search for the answer without success.

Can one instruct on a NPPL with NPPL standard medical (ie not EASA medical).

Presumably a NPPL instructor can only instruct for NPPL?

According to ANO Schedule 7, Part B, Section 2, only on microlights or SLMG.

I wasn't aware that the NPPL Instructor ever existed?

I wasn't aware that the NPPL Instructor ever existed? Neither was the CAA when they invented the NPPL; and much to their surprise they had to issue exemptions for all the holders of MGIR and Microlight FI ratings so that they could legally continue to operate. It took several years to sort that mess out!
