Briefly spending some of my childhood over there then various family gatherings always remembered the iconic Wessex, Scout, SA365C and S-76 / S-70 of the the 28, 660 and HKAuxAF then GFS. Funnily enough saw the first GFS As332L1 at Le Bourget in 2001.

Anyhow back to the present :) just read in the latest Sikorsky Commercial Links, that the UTC CEO recently visited the GFS in relation to a tender that will be put out in 2014, for a new fleet :) S-76D and S-92 come to my mind as one offering ( for sure the S-70i wouldn't be on the cards!!)

On the other offering maybe Airbus Helicopters come to the table with the 225 and 175? Etc

Didn't we try to sell the 101 and. Lynx to the then Auxiliary Air Force around the time Bell offered the 412 to replace the SA365 in the SAR role, while the successful bidders being Sikorsky who offered the 76 and 70.

Cheers

Interesting idea that Hong Kong should buy from the West when there are other manufacturers closer to home.

Heads down, look out for the flack

Care to elucidate?
If they want a single type then the AW189 would probably be top of the list.:ok:

Leopold my dear chap, read my post carefully. You have obviously got far too much time on your hands, I would have imagined that you would be far too busy careening by now.:p:p

I have been spelling "Flak" as "Flack" for far too long now and do not feel inclined to a spot of retraining.:( I suppose that you are now going to educate me about "Flaming Onions" and "Archie".

Heads down, look out for Leopold.:E
