View Full Version : Are you older than your Squadron number?
Four Types

Random thought last night! What is the age of the oldest person who is older than his largest Squadron number? For example, for me I will have to pass 74 years old (74(F) Sqn). I have already passed 8 and 25, 56 next year (hopefully!) then it is the long haul to 74.
I reckon there may be some WW2 guys on 100 Sqn or 101 Sqn could beat that.
As I said....just a thought!

Is this another dig at the hole in the wall gang who will never get a member of the 'I am older than my squadron number club' ?

I'll overtake mine in 2162!
Mind you, I knew some blokes on 1 squadron who behaved like 2 year olds ;)

You were on 19 Sqn? :p
Some would struggle to match their IQ scores against their Squadron number :p:p

There are several Yodas on 660 and 705 at Shawbury who passed the relevant age a long time ago...

Do we include 1435 Flt? I'd love to think I'd last that long;)
Although, if I'd continued drinking at that pace, I don't think I'd have lasted another year

1, 4, 19 and 20 all done, but 208 is going to scupper my chances.... (unless we're not counting flying training)
How about adding up all the numbers?
Mine is 1873 (with tax relief at marginal rate ;) )

No's 1 and 2 Radio School and No 2 School of Tech Training were well beaten while still in Boys service, but 214 Sqdn is going to be a real challenge.

Well I've past 14, ache and puberty so don't want to go back there... I've past 20 but I wouldn't mind going back there :ok: 240 OCU no chance of reaching that, and my other one LSS didn't have a Squadron, we just loaned our aircraft to 10 Sqn :)
