Just something that popped into my head watching the F1 the other week as an A346 of a particular ME airline did a low pass over the circuit before the race (Qantas also do it at several events, no doubt other airlines around the world too)......who gets selected to perform these? Is it just part of the bid system or by default the most senior crew on the fleet do it? Not being familiar with airline rostering, I was just wondering if anyone can shed any light on how it is organised :ok:

(I guess a similar question applies to military flyovers, but was wondering more about commercial airline activities here in particular)

The usual selection is based on the boss getting the glory, and often as he has no real current experience, or any formation or low flying experience.

So always the most dangerous flights are the PR flights.
