I'd never heard of this place until the other week, when it featured on the BBC's Great British Year wildlife programme. Then I heard this news tonight:
BBC News - WWI airfield Stow Maries to be restored (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-24517585)
Stow Maries Aerodrome (http://www.stowmaries.com)

It's actually been on going for a while. Great isn't it, a surviving WW1 airfield. It was up for sale a while back as the original saviour and starter of the project was I think running short of cash, if this means it is secure great. :)

Some real good intentions here - I hope they manage to pull it off. Great effort so far.

Saw this on Look East last night, the CGI made it look as though it's going to be well smart when it's done up. Good luck to all involved.:ok:

I hate to be a spotter, but in the BBC article, some of the buildings in the background are distinctly WWII vintage...

I've flown in a couple of times, it's a lovely place with a great atmosphere (and cakes) they deserve the support, they have invested a lot of time and money already.
