Hi all

I am just about to transition to the A320 form my current type and have been doing some research and reading. In some of the photos I have seen there are 2 additional displays on the forward panel either side of the lower ECAM screen (right above the MCDU's). I can't find anything in my bootleg manuals and in many pics these are just blanks but I'm just interested to know what these things are. My guess is ACARS / CPDLC but I thought that was handled within the MCDU.

After some significant searching I am still at a loss so is anyone stooging about in a late model A320 that could shed some light?

Correct - they're for CPDLC, which is handled by a mixture of these itty-bitty displays and the MCDU. We have the displays but aren't set up for CPDLC yet so we just get all the ATSU head-aches that go with it.
