Anybody know what rosters are available at Sola?
Required to be based at Stavanger or is commuting an option?

Cheers.

14/14 or 5/2/5/9. Commuting is very common.

Commuting is very common as 26500 mentioned. If a 14/14 roster is available it will be given on a seniority basis. New pilots will automatically be given 5/2/5/9, and offered 14/14 if available.

Is Norwegian or another Scandinavian language an absolut must for a new pilot?

No, there are several pilots form the UK, Germany, Finland etc who don't speak Norwegian.

Also, many pilots commute back to their home countries.
14/14 is based on seniority, but it usually doesn't take that long before one get 14/14. Maybe a year or so (not as a rule, just practice).

Ive heard that the regulations state that offshore pilots are required to have a minimum of 800 hours.

Is that correct?

I think it is actually 1000hrs. It is an OLF requirement, although some customers might not insist on this, the reality is Bristow, CHC or any other operator will likely be flying for all customers, so yes these days 1000hrs should be a minimum. This was waived a few years ago, but appears to have taken more of a priority again recently.

I don't think you'll find this to be "regulations'' but customer requirements, which is not regulations.

800h appears to be what they require at the moment.
