Just a heads up if you're planning a flight to either ESSA or ESSB between September 4 and 5. Airspace, and the airports, are closed for non-scheduled traffic because of Obamas visit. Flights related to the visit, ie a bizjet carrying someone important enough, may be granted permission upon request.

It is "good" to see that the city airspace shuts down when the King of North America arrives. Like the 15 GA fields that close to traffic in Florida if his majesty blesses the State with a vist.

What is wrong with this picture? If normal people cannot carry on their business, then he can stay holed up in the White House.

Mr Lincoln used to walk from his office to a restaurant for his lunch. The PM of Norway recently worked "undercover" in order to get a feel for what people really thought on the street. Royal children in Denmark have gone to normal schools and have real careers, including the talented Queen of Denmark.

These professional politicians in all countries should be required to work at normal jobs in between SERVING the country. They have lost all relationship to their country, their people and cosseting them like this, making everyone else in a sense bow down to their presence is disgusting!

It's the same when the "King of Russia" is departing from Vnukovo - all TO's and Ldgs are on hold "until further notice".

What's the lesson we learn - the EU, together with their North American "friends" are not much better then the soooo corrupt russkies.

Like it would make any difference if someone really would try to get him and suceed. Mr. Vice is waiting, if he goes there are enough other candidates , I am sure. Nobody is irreplacable. And for sure our american friends find the next guy signing of the next attack for a country of your (their) choice. For the freedom :D :ugh:

Problem is that the idiot in charge of team america, and the gas valve controller, have a lot more enemies than any of the European royals these days.

There are vast areas in northern Sweden with very little population but with good infrastructures in the way of airports. Why not have the state visit there instead? Obama could enjoy the nice view of the Scandinavian mountains and ordinary life (both in the air and on the ground) in the Stockholm area need not come to a halt.
