Can anyone tell me if Qantas or Virgin Australia will take US jumpseaters and what is the procedure?

Thanks!

Qantas (and any airline in the Qantas Group) will not allow you on the jumpseat unless you are an employee of the company and hold a red or blue ASIC.

Not sure about Virgin.

KZ Kiwi,

Thanks for the quick reply. What is a ASIC for us Yanks?

It's lucky you corrected the spelling of Qantas in your thread as calling people 'Quants' down this way would most certainly not get you a jumpseat! :ok:

Little Duece, an ASIC is a device used to extract money from companies and individuals working in the industry. :E

It is an airside security pass Aviation Security Identification Cards (ASICs) (http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/transport/security/aviation/asi/asics.aspx)

Duece.

Not a hope on any airline in Australia, thanks to the lunacy that started on your side of the Pacific.
