Does anyone know what happened on the ryanair flight from EMA to LIG on 25th July 2013.

The flight seemed odd.
No comments from flight deck during all flight.
Then very fast landing with plane tilting wings moments before landing on runway.
Came in very fast. Everyone holding on to seats wondering when we would stop.
Plane gets to gate. Then everyone gets ready to get up and cabin crew tell everyone to sit back down immediately. French police then boarded and took someone off from what could be seen.

Anyone know any more info?

Thanks.

If aeroplanes do not fly fast they tend to stop flying and fall out of the sky. For this reason pilots normally keep the aeroplane going fast except when it is firmly in contact with the ground. I hope this helps povide useful explanation.

On a serious note, if police met one particular passenger then he had probably either been disruptive in flight and an offload had been arranged or he was a deportee. This will not in any way change how we fly. We will not land at higher speeds because of this. The landing (ground)speed is a function of the aircraft weight, surface wind and flap selection only. If the aircraft's wing were rocking, it was probably turbulent, gusting wind or merely passenger perception.

Lack of PA from the flight deck simply means pilots are busy and have other priorities (for example dealing with a disruptive pax situation).

Maybe it was the Captain arrested for speeding?

Bit late to suggest this now but I'd have asked the CC on the way out (about the pax, obviously, not the landing!)...

Maybe FR are selling "priority de-planning" :\

It's been told on Pprune before but I love the story of the airline where it was customary for the First Officer to stand at open flight deck door and wish passengers goodbye.

As a passenger was leaving he said to the FO "You brought it in a bit fast there didn't you?" Before he had a chance to reply the Captain who was standing behind him shouted over his shoulder "What seat were you seated in?" Pax replies "Twelve C" Captain says to FO "Quick get onto maintenance - there's obviously something wrong with the airspeed indicator in Twelve C".

738 does land faster than, say, an A319 at a similar weight versus MTOW - typically 7kts at Flap 40 or 14kt at Flap 30.

That would have nothing to do with the police presence at the gate though.

The flight seemed odd.

Good thing you never flew on the Convair 990 "Coronado" then. Now THAT was fast ;)
