Vietnam Helicopter Novel

Wondering if anyone can put me onto a book (fiction novel) I once read about a US Huey pilot in Vietnam; it started with a 'People Sniffer' mission in the DMZ that became a friendly fire incident.

Annoyed that I lent it and didn't get it back; even more irritated that I can't remember the title. I have GTS and searched Amazons without result.

Any assistance appreciated.
