Hi All,

One of my friends was on this flight last night (Sydney AU to Honolulu). She told me that the Captain advised that the flight would divert to Nadi due to oil pressure problems . According to the news report appears the engine may have been shut-down (Link Below).Un-sure to the nature of the failure or where it occurred (i.e approaching Nadi or past Nadi).

ETOPS flight with 306 passengers on-board. I know Air Pacific use Christmas Island as a technical stop when required due to prevailing headwinds on the Nadi Honolulu route but that's in a 738. Could an A330 get down there if it absolutely had too? I understand logistically Nadi's a better choice.

Fine job by the crew in the middle of the night. The flight HA452 departed Nadi bound for Honolulu at 8pm Fijian Time tonight.
