Hi,
Does anyone have an idea where in Europe can one get type rated for the turbo commander?

Not in Europe. I believe Simcom do it in the US - took over from FlightSafety.

Checked out Simcom, they only offer FAA but not JAA training, atleast for the commander. Any other ideas?

There's what appears to be a Rockwell 690A or B ( with long range tanks ) based in Antwerp, as recently as last year. Maybe one of the final 6 with the last engine upgrade?

If this aircraft operates under a JAA AOC of some sort, maybe you could call the owners, and see if they might point you in the right direction. It is
00-GOA ( CN 1173 ), and is easy to find via Google, or similar. Even if it's privately operated, the owner is bound to know something useful.

I should point out that I have never had anything to do with the Commander series, but rather wish I had.

OO-GOA is a RC.690A, CN 11173, based in Antwerp but I don't know who owns or flies it. Should not be too difficult to find out.
Other European Commanders are:

D-IHSI RC.695 (95039)
D-IUTA RC.690C (11639)
I-BLFE RC.690A (11204)
I-MAGJ RC.690A (11265)
M-BETS RC.695A (96034)
SE-GSS RC.690C (11613)
SE-IUV RC.690C (11681)
SE-LZU RC.690A (11121)
SE-LZX RC.690B (11367)
VP-BCT RC.695B (96208)
VP-BMZ RC.690D (15033)

You should be able to at least find a few operators online and check where they do their training. Good luck !

OO-ROB also operates in France/Belgium and is sister ship to OO-GOA.

You can train with Wermlandsflyg in Sweden who operates two 840's. You can also train in Cambridge, UK, but I have not spoken to them myself. Marshall Aviation.
