Thought this was an interesting article; seems Police ASUs knocking around over Toxteth have it easy compared to the poor sods flying helicopters over Tharir Square....

BBC News - Egypt crisis: Why are Cairo protesters using laser pens? (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-magazine-monitor-23178484)

What was interesting in seeing all those lasers was the continued projection of the Crescent and The Cross together onto the side of a building.............very clear message.

What struck me was the amount of people underneath the helicopter. If they wanted to bring it down, where did they expect it to go?

To those that know little, that would seem like a good observation to make.
Unfortunately, those 'Toxteth scallywags' you mention, tend to not want to be located and therefore lase from distance. Consequently, the beam comes directly into the cockpit/cabin through the front or side windows and hits the faces of the crew.

Zapped from below by hand held laser pens ... Luxury !
Locating the shiney people and them being sent down for 16 months...Priceless !
