Bumps on 17 year daughters joints

Sue has swollen up mid-finger joints today. Also the back of her elbows have small raised nodules and so do her knuckles.

The elbows are the worst. It's like a rash of pimples, a bit red. not itchy or sore

The knuckles and fingers look quite bad though, and on one hand it stretches back along the top of her hand along the tendon.

We're going on holiday tomorrow. Might have to delay to see GP.

Any ideas for treatment?

You are obviously worried to ask on this forum. I would just let the GP look and sort it if she has not had this before its most likely an allergic reaction to something, which in turn could be anything from the college science lab to an insect bite. Does she look after horses? Horse fly or ragwort.

Oh I didnt see the bit about holiday. Yes delay cos if it gets worse just think of the hassle especially abroad.

A chum says his son had it, treatment was anti biotic cream. We'll take her to the GP before we set off tomorrow- will be a small delay.....
