Hello everyone going to Sliverstone, the following link is a map on google earth for the Sliverstone RAT and Turnweston

This isn't a replacement for the correct briefing pack or being at the meeting today but just an aid to make sure we all know where everything is.

Plus as you might of guess as well this a rough copy of it so anything you want to add to this please feel free and safe flying

Download the KMZ file above and open in google earth, hopefully all very simple:8

Folks,

I had a pretty easy time at Silverstone this year so I spent the last 3 days taking photos of almost everything I could see that moved (while I had batteries that were charged !)

I've put them on Face Book , I am not sure this will work as a link from here but here goes

https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151687682727943.1073741825.746667942&type=1&l=97540fb4be

Whilst they might not be production quality, some of them are ok, if any pilots want to use pictures of themselves feel free, any commercial use by operators or owners I would appreciate a donation to WNAA | About Us | The Air Ambulance Service (http://www.theairambulanceservice.org.uk/about-us/our-services/warwickshire-northamptonshire-air-ambulance) who attended on the Sunday and I fly for a few times a month. (Mods I hope this is acceptable as it is a charity).

Gary

My favourite image of the day as a taster, with a good mate of mine piloting the yellow one.

All my images are all rights reserved.

If you are directly involved with any of these helicopters and would like to make a print, PM me as can probably do something better for you than these web versions.

Been a very long & busy day with limited photographic opportunities, so this is the best I can muster for now.

Pardon this arty one, taken 05:45hrs local at Aynho.

Excellent photos! Did anyone get a picture of red B206 G-TGRZ either Silverstone or Glastonbury? My son was flying it.

LOZZ

OOHCZ, operating as Film1, and was providing the aerial shots during the GP with several low-level runs over the heliport!

What is this please?
Attached to and pointing down from the RH skid?

Downlink aerial. Similar to the ones used by some police AS355 helicopters. Can be manually retracted or automatically via a radalt input.

As a matter of interest - how were the attendance figures for helicopters at the Grand Prix this year? I look forward to seeing many transiting to and from Denham but traffic seemed well down despite perfect viewing weather?

Some great pics here!

Did they have any refuelling facilities there..? If so, just for emergencies or for top ups as well..?

LOZZ
8th Jul 2013, 09:12
No re-fueling provision at Silverstone, just at the feeder sites e.g. Aynho.

LOZZ
8th Jul 2013, 09:13
I think general consensus was that numbers were lower than last year.

I don't know about the feeder sites but here at Turweston we were running a 2 bay RRR site and a mobile bowser in the helipark. The site at Greatworth came to us to refuel their mini bowser . The bowser at Aynho arrived on site full this year in the past that has also come to us to top up . We Had around 50 helicopters in the park slightly down on last year .
