We're back for another great time in the western plains of NSW at the historic Narromine airfield for another Ausfly fly in.

http://i849.photobucket.com/albums/ab58/jaba430/Ausfly2013_zps08818761.png

We were asked for several improvements over last year, and we have adopted them wherever possible. No we did not get around to building a Hilton Hotel :} but the ever popular B&B homestay system is growing and there should be more accomodation around this year.

There is an extra day, starting Thursday, air displays on Friday and Saturday 2pm-4pm. The Ausfly dinner function and a wonderful inspirational guest speaker (and under 20 years of age too! :ok:)

Did anyone mention....... QBE sponsored display by Matt Hall :D

Matt Hall Racing (http://matthallracing.com)

Different seminars and workshops, more and varied exhibitors.......more news to come in the following weeks.

Book in early or you will miss out for accomodation and for the Ausfly dinner, this was a sell out last year and was 25% over-subscribed. (we promise the gas heaters this year too ;))

Details found at www.ausfly.com.au (http://www.ausfly.com.au) and updates will be made in the coming weeks so keep an eye out for changes.

And weather permitting, The Wright Flyer Replica :ok: will be taking to the skies, albeit low level. The last time was its debut in 2005, and Narromine went mad that weekend.

whats the plan if you wish to fly in for the short term, arrive Sat, and depart Sunday, and wish to camp underwing beside your aircraft?

AUSFLY 2012
28th Aug 2013, 08:29
Dear ultralights,

You are most welcome, however download the pilot information for more details.

Camping under your wing, literally can only be done in section A, and by Saturday that may well be 100% full, unless someone vacates. Take your chances. Parking is fine in C & D however you will need to put your tent up in the camp area. The benefit of that is you are closer to all the ammenities and not subject to DAMP rules if you have a cold beverage at the aero club.

Camping fees are very cheap and payable to the NTP. They provide all the ammenities and service them so campers please do the right thing.

Dinner function is a must so have a great weekend. But book now.

I'm planning on taking a C172 up departing Kyneton, up on Thursday and back on Sunday. Throw the swag and a chair in the back and camp on field for the weekend.
I don't have any passengers yet so I have room for one or two others. If anyone from the Melbourne region wants to do a bit of cost sharing send me a PM and we'll see if we can sort something out. It'll be about four hours each way, probably stop half way for snacks and such.

Cheers Folks
Kieran

Hurry up and book Saturday night tickets, the last week has seen a massive increase in ticket sales, and there is probably sub 50 or less available.

I can see scalpers hanging around the registration tent again this year.

Get in quick or miss out.

Subtle progamme changes too. Check the website for the 4/9/13 version tomorrow.

I flew in yesterday to attend the RAA AGM. I was surprised at the lack of people in attendance, compared to last years Friday, when I returned to the field just before the aero displays finished. I departed as soon as the displays finished, which were running late which is not good for folk who plan around the NOTAM published times.

Jabawocky
15th Sep 2013, 07:03
The published NOTAMS were through till 16:00 local, if you took careful note, the show finished by then.

So nobody should have been disadvantaged at all.

Why didn't you stay?

Weather in the South, South West, and South East has been ordinary and lots of folk could not make the trip who had booked and planned.

Was still a great weekend, with a quality attendance. :D
