Saw what appeared to be a small t tailed business jet around 2000ft over the central borders (Peebles) today. Hard to figure out what it was, but guessing mil due to its height.

Any ideas? I didn't think we had any Business Jet types left that would be doing low level. Only thing I could think was an FRA Falcon, but wouldn't have thought they'd be low over land?

Looks like a FRA Falcon to me. Probably out of Teeside, giving the RAF some EW fun.

Definitely a FRA Falcon. Probably working an EW sortie, maybe working in conjunction with Spadeadam.

2000ft is not low, I have often mixed it up with them at around 500ft as they simulated a enemy fighter.

Thanks all! :) Glad my instinct was right!

And cheers Glad Rag - it's my new thing! More landscapes than aircraft - it just so happens at the time the zoom lens was on the IR camera rather than the colour one!

Come down to the South Coast and you'll see them at about 100ft!

Oh, it's an IR photo. There was me thinking 'the Borders in June, must be snow on the trees' :)

What looked like an FRA Falcon heading west over Bashall Eaves / Chipping in the Forest of Bowland around lunchtime. Heading in right direction for Blackpool or Warton

IR is a marmite subject to be fair - I admit it, and I'm the one who had my camera converted! They are striking though... I like to think mines are a wee bit different, but (I'll be a little bit cheeky now) you can judge for yourself:

There ARE some aviation related pics in there as well, just to keep even tenuously on topic!

Oh, and that pic was a major crop of a long distance moving subject that I wasn't ready to snap, so I'm quite chuffed that it was even identifiable! although it isn't a great pic! ;)

Thanks all! :) There seems to have been a step change in my photos lately which I can't quite figure out, but I'm not going to complain about it! and it all started from taking photos at Leuchars airshow with my dad's old SLR...!

Alas, whilst I've heard all the fast jet movements over Peebles this week, I've missed everything but the Falcon! Back down to Devon next week and the slightly more sedate rotary traffic over Honiton!
