Rescue 700 (Torres Straits)

Rescue 700, EMS/SAR service in the Torres Straits (Bell 412 Classic), Crashed on Prince of Wales Island whilst conducting night sun approach. The aircraft impacted heavily with skids and tail boom partially separated. 3 crew onboard got out with only minor injuries.

VH-EMZ was the first production model Bell 412 (serial number 33001)

Pretty dark at night out there... No Goggles? I thought all their machines are NVG equipped?

Aircraft might be equipped, but pilots are not.

Oh, that will be very expensive for the insurance company as its owners paid way too much for that aircraft when they bought it from ERA.
