Average Hours A (H) Pilot Can Fly A Year

Hi Everyone

i cant seem to find this answer anywhere

Whats the average a helicopter pilot flys a year with a CPL can a pilot fly 1000/2000 hours a year or is the a regulation u only can fly a cirtain amount

as i want to no how long once i pass my PPL/CPL that i can get good job as i no alot of them ask for 1000-3000 hours just wanted to no the average it take to get that

Because thats a very random question :ugh:. Depends on what line of operation.

I think the limit is 90 hours per month by regs.

That's a fairly difficult question to answer but from my experience I averaged 500hrs a year as a freelance instructor/ commercial pilot and now as I dedicated VFR commercial pilot we also average 500 to 600 per year. All uk onshore.

I'll get in before you get attacked and feel insulted. Before answering your question, a quick suggestion....... Don't do txt spk here, u will not get gud answers.
A part answer from me, you will only fly the hours you can get, and that is TOUGH! As a 7000hr+ Hems pilot, I get less than 300hrs a year. Very few people get more than 500 a year, I honestly think more than 2-300 will be ambitious unless you can get a good gig. A job as an offshore co-pilot may be the best option, 500+ a year is realistic there.
Be warned, employers require good English skills, text speak will put them right off.

Canadian regs about 120 hrs per month or 1200/ yr. That said, if you can do 1000/year you're doing pretty good, and might even get more with a well-organized helicopter-logging outfit. If you want to pole-vault your career with an IFR rating, expect 2-300/ year in EMS or offshore.

I have flown from 84 hr/year to 1100 hr/year and everything in between. Depends on type of operation, regulations and country you fly in. In Europe I would expect a low timer to top out at a couple hundred hours a year.
To get to the 2000-3000hr mark I'd say 3-6 years, again depending on what you do!

didnt expect the fight time in uk to be so low,i guess when i pass my CPL i will travel outside Europe to more out of flying

once i pass the 1000hr mark there seems to be alot more options for jobs just got to build from when i pass up to 1000 (thats the tricky part)

Utility pilot Canada, good year lots of hours. One thing though young man, as a Brit expat pilot I admire your spirit and should we say bravery in asking on this forum but to burst your bubble.....not quite as easy old chap, just to bugger off and rack hours up in a country of choice. If said SAR, HEMS whatever floats ya boat career you choose. Two words if I may....Work Permit. Not so easy least any more.

So London police pilot don't fly that many hours despite I read that the helicopters fly average 275 hours a month and pilots do 12 hour day shifts

divide 275 by the number of aircraft and then by the number of pilots employed and it's not quite so many.
I averaged about 27 hours a month/325 a year when I worked there.

Between 350 and 850 hours/year.
For the last couple of years 600 hours/year.
40 years flying and 500 odd hours as average.
