View Full Version : LR 60 becoming obsolete in Europe?

I keep hearing this opinion from more and more 60 crew.
Job opportunities are barely to be had since more and more operators seem to upgrade to larger aircraft such as the 605 and similar types.
Any other thoughts or opinions on this?
Happy landings

I'd say the days of those types are numbered. and what you are hearing s true.

The market I'd very definitely going wide body cabins or supermidsize.

I fully agree. Exept the XLS is a niche at the moment.
The LJ60 in central Europe is almost only used for ambulance missions.

Still seems to be a demand in Asia/Middle East according to Latestpilots...

Some 13 new XRs were released out of factory last year.

But truth is of course that wider cabins CL300< and up are taking over the market.

Still LR60 is a great rocket to fly ... for a PILOT :}

It seems slightly incongruous that business leaders are complaining globally that the words economy is on the verge of tanking, yet they are splashing around large wads of cash on what amounts to a little more knee and hip room on 2-3 hr flights.

Surely a wide cabin bizjet costs a significant amount more to charter/operate than the narrow cabin types.
