I was speaking to a colleague. He related a story about a "chief pilot" who has 20 hours in type. He refuses to listen to his experienced captain with 3000 hours in type, refuses to listen to his 1500 hours in type co-pilot. As a result, both will not fly with him.

So he is scheduling himself to fly with a co-pilot with 500 hours total time and newly rated himself.

I was appalled for several reasons, but I also said that I thought a new captain on type was prohibited from flying with an inexperienced co-pilot. He also as chief pilot authorised his own line training (with the experienced captain) to end after three legs, rather than 10-20!

This sounds like an accident in the making.........
