Overhauls

Hello everyone,

Just wondering can any LAME overhaul a Conti or Lyco? Or is it a factory thing only? Also anyone know how much longer Continental will keep building the GTSIO-520's considering pretty much only one plane used them?

Engines can be overhauled by approved shops, they do not need to go back to the factory. Most engines get overhauled, but some new ones are produced, I wouldn't think they would stop producing them anytime soon as they will still need to produce spares for those in service and it really is just a case of assembly.
