Hi, I am due my Class 1 renewal but just realised I don't know my exact position and what I have to do in relation to it - last year I was under a CAA licence but have since transferred to the IAA. I wonder if I can have my medical done at any CAA-approved AME in the UK or if I have to find one that is IAA approved...just not sure how it works if you live in the UK but fly under an Irish licence?

Thanks for any help you can offer

You can do the medical in any JAA country/AME as long as he sends your test results and all paperwork to the IAA in Dublin afterwards.

Are IAA medical requirments for first class medical same to JAA(EASA) requirments?

UK CAA/EASA AMEs can do the medical, issue the certificate and just need to send the paperwork to the IAA.

Not all AMEs can do class 1 Medicals so check before you book an appointment.
