... who have flown the various series. from 200- 800.

How much more technically advanced are the latest versions ( winglets etc) ? Do the latest versions have any of the B777 technology They are not FBW? ( excuse my ignorance) On balance do you feel happier with the advanced technology or were tHe earlier versions more fun to fly?

Thanks

As an 800 pilot that regularly flies with guys that flew the classics, one thing they constantly complain about is how speed unstable the 800 is (especially on approach)

It is significantly faster that the classic versions and will cruise quite comfortably at Mach .80 with VMO being 340 and MMO .82.

A lot of guys that used to fly the classics say that there were various issues with takeoff performance when they were heavy but with the 800 those issues rarely exist(at least not in my experience)

The 800 is not FBW. A lot of my colleagues say that they rather the classics to fly but I wouldn't know as the closest I have been to a classic is an MCC course I did years ago in the sim!
