Good evening everyone. I currently hold a JAA Class 1 medical, and I did my initial examination here in Italy, where I live. For my renewal I was thinking of going to one of the CAA approved AME's in England (one of these, just to be clear AME Search Results | Medical | Personal Licences and Training (http://www.caa.co.uk/application.aspx?catid=49&pagetype=65&appid=21&mode=list&county=All-UK) ), and maybe do a FAA Class 1 medical as well.
Do you know if OAA, CTC, and FTE would accept this medical, or they'd send me to Gatwick anyway to redo my initial examination again? Is it the same for any other English FTO's?
For what concerns the FAA side of my question, a few of those listed AME's are FAA approved as well. Do you know if in the U.S. they would accept my FAA Class 1 initial medical taken in England?
Thank you very much for your time, I really hope you could help me on this! :)

Thom.

My FTO, and probably the same for OAA, CTC, FTE, didn't care where your medical was from as long as it was a valid EASA/JAA one.

No idea about FAA.

No school can require you to re-do the initial medical.

Remember your medical records must be held by the state of intended licence issue so you will have to transfer your medical records from Italy to the UK if you want a UK licence.

See :
How to obtain a UK EASA Licence if you hold a non-UK medical certificate/licence | Medical | Personal Licences and Training (http://www.caa.co.uk/default.aspx?catid=49&pagetype=90&pageid=2576)
