View Full Version : ATPL training software?

Hello,

I have posted here recently to ask for help with getting started with my ATPL groundschool, but unfortunately am still not in a position to start due to personal circumstances - mostly the fact that the CAA have taken a very long time to process my PPL application as a result of an error made by the examiner.

While I wait, I was hoping to get ahead by purchasing some materials before starting the approved course. As I am also looking at possibly using a provider who only make provision for written manuals (do not have Apple hardware so cannot use the typical Ipad software etc), I was thinking of getting hold of digital materials so that I can then also use them to supplement my learning during the approved course.

Does anyone know of any solution other than Oxford's CBT series and Bristol's ATPDigital? The former is too expensive and the latter is not actually available until you have signed up to an approved course (not necessarily BGS).

Thanks!

Odai.

use Youtube - free and has some very good videos on gas turbines, piston engines, gyros etc. :ok:

I wouldn't buy additional cbt unless it is going to be part of your chosen course. Some cd's are available for free download (not that i'd condone that, obviously)

there's only so much study material you need for these exams, i wouldn't worry about getting lots of different material as it will just increase your workload. Just make sure the material is up to date.

Good luck!

Hello,

Thanks for all the helpful responses guys.

Richard, I did think of doing that, and it would be useful during a training course using only printed notes, but it unfortunately wouldn't allow me to get a head start on the training while I wait for the endless delays at the CAA to end. :( I think there's also some merit to having the animations integrated to the relevant notes,

Greg, I'll look into it and give them a call - thanks for the heads up.

Paco, will call at some point also, thanks!
